In the past I
did videos of the Homecoming Parades for my website. This year I thought I’d go another
route after seeing a couple of other works by some pretty
good photographers. Well, their more than pretty good. When
you’re photographing folks like Bon Jovi there is no doubt
you’re good, very good. Not to say I’m anywhere near that
talented for a photography nor do I have the kind of
hardware he was using doesn’t diminish my love for the still
camera. Normally the photographs I take are a snap here and
a snap there to go with some story I am doing to go with the
video. I've wanted to do a straight photo shoot for some
time but the opportunity just hadn’t presented itself.
I had planned
on going to the Homecoming Parade and as usual take the video camera. That was
until I watched the video on Vimeo a few days ago.
When I do photos the subject I like most are of people.
What could be better? There would be tons of people at the parade. It was a
blast! Coolest parade I can remember. I was able to photo several good friends
plus scores of others during the 1,500 frames I shot. Yep, 1,500 and all but a
few went into this video photo slide show. Must admit, working the video up with
that many photos was a trip. It may not to everyone’s liking but I’m good with
it. Being my first go-around at this personally I don’t think the video slide
shoe is bad at all. In any case it is different and, to me, it’s fun to watch.
Pendleton may not have won their Football game tonight
but I don’t think anyone beat them ever when it comes to celebrating Homecoming,
no where, no time.
Hope you enjoy the video. I’d like to hear what you think
about it and any ideas you can through mu way about this technique because I
think I have found another love.
