It can be a major hassle to
oversee all of your event pages. Not one size fits all. The biggest problem in
getting the word out is that potential attendees swim in different ponds";
Facebook, Twitter, or somewhere else on the web. Don't pass up a chance to
double, triple, or quadruple your search engine listings?
Most all events have an
official Web site. Very few (except for geek events) take full advantage of all
the free event listing and event management opportunities. At a minimum, you
should create event pages on:
- Facebook Events
- Upcoming
- Linkedin (Business
events)
- Twitter (Remember to use
hashtags #)
- Eventbrite (where you can
also sell tickets for a fee)
- Local websites & news
outlets (Most attendees are going to be local ones but you also want to attract
new people too).
- Create multi-media
content or press releases
Rev Up Your Events: As the
event draws closer, you have to pull potential attendees off of the fence with
content hors d’ouerves, for example, by offering multiple small prizes to
attendees or, another example is, if it's a musical event ask attendees' what
songs they'd like to hear.
